Good news if you have a late-'90s Supra, because Toyota has announced that it will produce of run of reproduction instrument panels for the A80 generation.

Dashboards in older cars have a habit of cracking, and repairing them or finding a good replacement is often difficult or even impossible.

Apparently this is one of more than 300 components that Toyota is making again under the banner of the GR Heritage Parts Project. Toyota isn't alone in this: BMW and Porsche are pretty good at supporting classics as well. When I bought my E30 3 Series, I did consider more esoteric options, but one of the appeals of a classic BMW is that there are loads of specialists who know their way around them and the supply of essential parts is unproblematic. It's still not perfect, though: I'd love a correct set of original sport springs, but they don't exist any more.
