SAT-NAV giant TomTom has launched a new device which it says will alert drivers to speed cameras, hazards and traffic without needing a distracting screen.

The new gadget – confusingly called the TomTom Tom – measures 48 x 48 x 15mm and sticks to your dashboard using an adhesive pad and magnetic mount. Once activated, it uses a glowing LED ring which illuminates in different colours to show it is connected and to warn of different alerts.
