Peugeot boss hints at future hot hatch plans

|February 26, 2025
PEUGEOT's new CEO has said he wants to embrace the brand's history with the potential return of its hallowed GTi badge, confirming our exclusive story from earlier this year.
When asked about the possibility of a new 208 GTi, Alain Favey told Auto Express: "I'm eager to connect Peugeot and what it stands for, to its past. So, we will look back at the heritage of the brand, and we will see to what extent [it] can be adapted to the modern world.
"There is nothing excluded in our review of this, and certainly not the GTi badge, for sure." This is the second time we've had reason to hope that a faster version of the next Peugeot 208 is on the cards, as we exclusively revealed in Issue 1,864.
