Drivers told to avoid sites selling L-test slots for inflated prices

REX DRIVERS are being warned not to be tempted to book an early driving test via third-party sites, with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) set to clamp down on a black market in which firms are illegally reselling slots for up to £200 each.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, bookings for driving tests have been notoriously hard to get hold of. In May this year, the average waiting time for a test was recorded at almost 18 weeks, despite the DVSA claiming that it is "taking all measures it can to reduce waiting times."
