Corvette reimagined by new UK styling studio

REVEALED US giant's concept marks opening of Midlands design base

GENERAL Motors has opened a design studio in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, to create its interpretation of a future Corvette.

While the striking concept might wear a Corvette badge, GM says “there is no production intent” behind the new car, with the goal being to “rethink the Corvette nameplate”.

The concept's reveal coincided with the official opening of the new site - the fifth styling base for the American giant after its studios in Michigan and California, US, plus Shanghai, China, and Incheon, Korea. The Midlands studio is the smallest, with 35 staff, but there's plenty of room to grow.
