A V6 RANGER SPORT MOVES IN TO OUR SHED

WHILE we’ve had plenty of time behind the wheels of RA Ford Rangers when testing them for a week at a time and at launches, it’s another story when you take ownership of one and really get to know it.

That’s just what we’ve done with the magazine’s latest project build car: this 2022 Ranger Sport V6. This car came off Ford’s fleet and, looking at the number plates, it was used on that original press launch in Victoria. It had around 6500km on it when we bought it and, while it didn’t come at a bargain price, buying a used one did mean we skipped the monthslong waiting list.

Our plans for the Ranger are to kit it up for touring and off-roading using some incredible aftermarket parts and accessories, and then drive it. This has meant a lot of motoring around Melbourne, going from one parts supplier/manufacturer to another to create a plan of what’s to go on the car, when, and how we can document it.
