Evoking the timeless character of Kolkata's colonial past while embodying the best of contemporary hospitality, the ITC Royal Bengal is a monumental architectural statement
Kolkata's built environment is a testament to its storied past, showcasing a stunning array of architectural styles - from the soaring grandeur of Gothic and Baroque architecture to the intricate beauty of Indo-Saracenic and the sleek sophistication of Art Deco. When tasked with the responsibility of designing ITC Royal Bengal, a structure which would soon be identified as a modern monument, architect Gaurav Shah drew inspiration from Kolkata's venerable architectural heritage, seamlessly weaving timeless influences into a contemporary masterpiece. Set within the Salt Lake area of Kolkata, this 1.2 million sq. ft. LEED Platinum-certified luxury hotel seamlessly blends the typology of a modern five-star urban retreat with the poise of a palace.
