While starting a project, every architect's first course of action is to ask questions. For this project, one fundamental yet deep question demanded some intense reflection: How does one recreate the sense of belonging in a new space without carrying the weight of the old? In this 13,200 sq ft duplex designed by Vasundhara Sampath, the answer lies in a palette of warm neutrals, in thoughtfully curated art, and in the seamless merging of two levels into one coherent thought. For Vasundhara, it became more than a project; rather, it was a reminder of why she fell in love with this profession. “The connection with the family was immediate,” she recalls. “They trusted me with their world, and that changes everything.”
