LET'S TURN THE SPOTLIGHT ON THE YOUNG TALENTS OF 2026 - THOSE WHO ARE SHAPING THE FUTURE OF DESIGN.
-
It is an undeniable fact that the design landscape is evolving at breakneck speed.
In this scenario, iGen by Architect and Interiors India stands as a crucial platform for recognising young architects and interior designers across the country. It is a unique space that celebrates new ideas, encourages dialogue and builds a community of forward-thinking designers.
iGen, an annual initiative, highlights the Top 50 architects and designers in India under the age of 40. The idea is crystal clear - to focus on individuals who are doing compelling work and also pushing the boundaries of design through experimentation, sustainability and contextual sensitivity. Over time, iGen has become a launchpad for emerging voices, many of whom go on to shape the larger design conversation in India.
What sets iGen apart is its open nomination process. The participants nominate themselves, which allows designers from different regions, scales of practice, and project types to take part. This approach makes the platform more inclusive and helps discover talent beyond established networks and big cities. The only criterion is that participants must be under 40, keeping the focus on the next generation.
Once entries are submitted, the editorial team conducts an initial review. This step ensures that all submissions meet the basic criteria and are complete. It helps prepare a strong and relevant pool of candidates for the next stage—the jury evaluation.
The critical jury stage comprises eminent architects and designers, and this year, we thank Apoorva Shroff, Lyth Design, Nita Kembhavi, Kembhavi Architecture Foundation, and Bhadri Suthar of The Grid Architects for their careful review of the entries.
