PERFECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

Getting the environment right is crucial for your goats. As well as adequate space, it is ideal to have two separate paddocks available for them to graze. We at Buttercups can testify just how beneficial this can be to a herd, and is one of the main weapons in our arsenal to combat the issue. By dividing our existing paddock into two and rotating the herd roughly every six months, we have been in a position to rest one and graze the other. The benefits of this are twofold. The main reason for this practice is to break the worm-egg cycle, i.e. stopping them from the endless ingestion of the eggs that they excrete themselves in their faeces.
