Sneha Sharma Racing Towards Sucess

At a young age of sixteen, she was determined to follow her dream. Meet Sneha Sharma, a passionate formula race car driver who put her motorsport on hold to pursue a career as flying pilot. A full-time pilot with Indigo airline, Sneha resumed her racing career in 2014. The Mumbai based teenager said, "Racing is not an easy sport", as she has to carry her books wherever she races.

For taking up racing assignments, Sneha often had verbal spats with her parents. She even fabricated stories to go in pursuit of her zeal. Not only had that she had to scale the neighborhood walls on many occasions to carry out her practice. She loves flying and racing, Indigo and JK Tyres are her sponsors. Doing both together is hectic for Sneha, but, with time airline is supporting her.

There was no incident as such that influenced Sneha to become a racer or a pilot. Just the thrill for speed, the adrenaline rush was a tap on the back enough for her. "Racing was difficult for me because I had no backgrounds. Initially I didn't have sponsors so I used to do part time at the race track like cleaning, etc, and I get subsided work. Usually I get sexist comments because most of my competitors are male. More than anything I had to stay mentally strong," Says Sneha.
