Susie Elelman ‘LOSING MY HEARING WAS TERRIFYING'

If there’s one trait you think of when you picture Susie Elelman, a meek wallflower isn’t one of them. But that’s exactly what started to happen to the iconic Australian presenter after the 66-year-old began to experience horrific symptoms from hearing loss.

“I was breaking out into cold sweats and I had to go into absolute silence or this whole wave would pour over me... it was one of the most frightening things that’s ever happened to me in my life,” the former Good Morning Australia star tells Woman’s Day.

“I’d go to the doctors and try to explain what was happening but they had no idea.

“Fast-forward to now and the amazing doctors at Connect Hearing were finally able to diagnose me with Meniere’s disease.”

HEARING DISORDER

Meniere’s disease is a disorder of the inner ear that can lead to dizzy spells and hearing loss and caused Susie to have problems differentiating letters in words.
