Author and Princess Diana’s close friend Tina Brown peers behind The Firm’s curtains

ROYALS ROCKED BY TELL-ALL BOOK

There’s been a deluge of royal tomes in recent years, but none so far has been as widely anticipated – or feared, if you’re a royal – than Tina Brown’s impending The Palace Papers: Inside The House Of Windsor – The Truth And The Turmoil.

A close friend of Princess Diana, the former Vanity Fair editor-in-chief was uniquely positioned to witness her rises, falls and ultimately her tragic end in 1997.

But since then, Tina, 68, has maintained her royal contacts to weave a bombshell new book that promises to take her readers behind the velvet drapes of Buckingham Palace and beyond.

Here, we examine her biggest revelations...

DIANA LOATHED ‘QUEEN CAMILLA’

While the Princess of Wales admitted she knew she’d never be queen, that doesn’t mean Diana would accept the Queen’s recent support for her ex-husband’s mistress to fulfil the role.

“She would have loathed the idea of Queen Camilla,” Tina tells The Telegraph Magazine. “But we’re 25 years on. The Queen’s always been a pragmatist and knows Charles wants Camilla to be queen.”

As for where Diana’s sons stand on the issue, Tina reveals they’re divided.
