EAT YOUR VITAMINS!

Yellow capsicum

These guys are full of vitamin C! Yep, eating two-thirds of a cup of yellow capsicum reportedly delivers 306 per cent of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C, helping to boost your immune system and lower the risk of heart disease. It’s also a good source of vitamin B-6, which promotes liver function and eye, skin and hair health, and folate, which is beneficial for pregnant women as it supports foetal growth.

Sunflower seeds

Don’t underestimate these guys because they pack a punch!

Sunflower seeds are high in vitamin E and selenium, which work as antioxidants to protect against free radical damage that could lead to chronic diseases.

A study also found those who ate sunflower seeds at least five times a week had 32 per cent lower levels of C-reactive protein (an inflammatory marker linked to heart disease and type-2 diabetes) than those who didn’t.

They’re also high in copper, vitamin B1, B6 and magnesium.
