Turning the kitchen into our dream room needed quite a bit of thought,’ says Sarah. ‘my husband, Alex, and I wanted an open-plan space, which meant knocking down the wall separating the dining and kitchen areas to create a much brighter room. our builder reassured us that it was a really simple job that wouldn’t take long, so we booked him in and once the job was underway, we went to Ikea to look at kitchens.
