Make Way for Rihanna

After conquering the soundwaves, Barbadian singer and actress RIHANNA, 29, is now dominating the fashion scene.

With her one-of-a-kind combination of beauty and talent, this gifted Barbadian star shows no signs of stopping. We all know Rihanna is a street style icon and rated as one of the most Googled celebs. She actually has more followers on Twitter (71,5 million) than Beyoncé (who counts 14,8 million) and even Kim Kardashian West (who has 51,4 million).

Rihanna regularly sets trends and has worn statement garments on almost each and every red carpet she's set foot on. Who could forget that show-stopping canary yellow gown and fur-trim cape at the Met Gala in 2016 that set the Internet on a craze? The dress was by Chinese fashion designer, Guo Pei, who later told People magazine that initially, she wasn't sure about the gown and thought it'd be too heavy and hot for Rihanna to wear.

HER MUSIC ROOTS

Born Robyn Rihanna Fenty in Barbados, the singer, songwriter, and actress has faced her fair share of struggles entering the music industry. She ultimately signed a recording contract with  Def Jam Recordings  after auditioning for its then-president, hip hop producer and rapper  Jay Z. Her successful lead single Umbrella took her to the international stage, winning the singer her first  Grammy for  Best Rap/Song Collaboration  with Jay Z in 2008. After releasing four consecutive  platinum  studio albums, including the  Grammy winner
