In an exclusive interview with Inner Secrets, Mr. Deepak Kumar, owner of The Lady Corner, spilled the beans about his extraordinary journey of making lingerie shopping a learning experience for the people of Ludhiana.

The Lady Corner, a modest shop in the busy market of Chaura Bazaar in Ludhiana, has changed the perception of lingerie shopping in the past thirteen years. The credit goes to our unsung hero Mr. Deepak Kumar, who believes that though for most people selling lingerie is just a profession but for him, it is his passion. Mr. Deepak said in his own words, “I have studied till 12th but I don’t consider myself undereducated, because I am trained, learned and skilled in the work that I do. I have spent years in gaining knowledge of this craft and now I am passing on this vital information to the customers empowering them to make the right choice and pick the right product that suits not just their budget but also their body”.

THE SEED OF THIS SAPLING

It was through the magazines and fashion shows in T.V., Deepak got introduced to this world of glamour and glitter. While others saw the well-toned models in the glossy pages, Deepak’s eyes were struck by the patterns, designs, prints, styles and uniqueness of the lingerie they donned. There was a sense of comfort, a pride in the pictures which he never felt while buying or wearing them.

Deepak said, “Chaura Bazaar is a big market place. There were over 50 stores dedicated to selling only shoes or only clothes, but there was none at that time who would sell only lingerie. It was a shy item that peeped from the last rack in the corner. The stock was limited and quality poor”.
