Keeping The Romance Alive

Every marriage brings with it a lot of affection, curiosity and endless possibilities.

Everything feels new and the world itself appears better. Your shoulders seem lighter and unburdened. Having someone as a constant companion makes you a happier person. Initially, the attraction for your partner doesn’t waver at all and you yearn for their body. You can’t keep your hands off each other and you want to spend each and every waking moment discovering your lover’s body. Every mole on their body stands out as beautiful and every curve reminds you of all things wonderful. When you are lying next to each other whispering sweet nothings, you come to the realization that life does not get better than this.

After a few years of marriage, sex with your spouse can become methodical, to say the least. By now you know what the other person likes and dislikes and you reach a level of comfort that’s almost too irreversible. Time and again both of you try to spruce things up but end up feeling like every effort is falling short. Then that wearisome feeling sinks in – you feel that your better half doesn’t fancy you anymore, at least not as much as they used to. This gnawing, discouraging feeling could pave way for several misunderstandings and often to a rather dissatisfied and frustrating sex life. Slowly and surely, without any conscious effort from either one of you – the blame game starts. This in turn leads to unnecessary fights which in fact could cause long term harm because you may have said things that cut deeper than a machete.
