Silver Lakes Caravans was founded in 2001 by Johnny Bell as a Venter Trailers dealership and a trailer rental business. In less than a decade after they opened their doors, the business had grown to be the largest Venter Trailer dealership in Pretoria.

In 2009 Jurgens Ci, then the leading caravan manufcturer and seller in South Africa, contacted Johnny and asked if he would not be interested to add Jurgens trailers and a Campworld shop to his existing trailer dealership, because they wanted a bigger trailer footprint in the local marketplace.

A few year later, Johnny wanted to expand the business even more, and in 2018 got his brother Chris on board.

The Bell brothers had a clear goal: they wanted to be the first choice for customers in the used caravan market, and so Silver Lakes Caravans was born.

As part of their strategy, the brothers employed Theo Wilken, who has many years of experience in the caravan business.

With Theo’s knowledge and awesome customers service, the “new kid on the block” is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.

The latest development for Silver Lakes was earlier this year when they transitioned from Campworld to LeisureWorld.
