The one thing that struck me immediately on my arrival at Kleine Bela, was the sheer size of some of the trees – particularly the huge Wurgvy (Ficus craterostoma) which is said to be one of the largest and oldest trees of its kind in Limpopo. Koos and Anna Marie, the owners of this great resort, told me that political parties used to gather in the shade of this giant tree to hold their meetings.
