On the HD 400 Pro, there’s a lot more plastic than you would see on the models sitting above it, however it’s not of the flimsy kind. The earcups feel solid, the band feels solid and they don’t skimp too much on quality here. It’s super light weight and feels like a bunch of feathers. The lightness belies the size of the huge cups which fit flush around the ear.

Under the hood are angled 120ohm transducers that are said to recreate the effect of stereo speakers in a room and they sure do sound that way. The highly efficient driver magnet is said to provide clarity while its damping system manages ventilation. It doesn’t just work in theory but in practice too.
