How To Build A Smart Home From Scratch
PCQuest
|June 2021
You can convert your home, building or office into a smart premise all by yourself. All you need is smart connected devices to enable the remote monitoring and management of the relevant appliances and systems
Internet of things (IoT), the term was discussed as early as 1982, since then we have seen a huge development in the segment. Today we can control the entire home/building using Internet-connected devices. The concept of a smart home/ building has evolved due to the convergence of multiple technologies, real-time analytics, Machine Learning, commodity sensors, and embedded systems.
IoT is the foundation of a Smart Home or building in which multiple Internet-connected smart devices work in a group, managed by an application and controlled by a smartphone, tablet or laptop.
Smart Home technology, also often referred to as home automation or domotics, offers various benefits to the home or building owners and residents. This is currently being used for security, comfort, convenience and energy efficiency as it enables them to the appliances even when they are not around.
Smart Home/Building Technology
Every home or building is equipped some connected devices or another. They all just require a hub to communicate with each other and receive commands from one user. Not just computers and smartphone, you can connect your doorbells, CCTV, lights, doors, TV, refrigerator, washing machine and many other appliances, you name it.
Once connected, these devices can communicate; you can collect data or command them to complete a particular task. Home/building automation brings you the exact same capabilities for your home or building.

Bias travels faster than code
Bias in enterprise AI is not a surface issue. It enters through data, features, model training, APIs, and UI logic, then spreads across the stack. The technical response is shifting from audits to architecture, observability, and deployment controls
