David Warner was the cynosure of all eyes the moment he arrived in England and Wales for the ICC World Cup 2019. The Australian stalwart endured a difficult 12 months after the infamous ball-tampering scandal that rocked Australia in the Test series against South Africa in March 2018. Warner alongside Steve Smith was banned for 12 months each. Whereas, Cameron Bancroft was handed a 9-month ban as well. The entire cricket fraternity was stunned and the Aussie trio was referred to as cheats.
Warner appeared in teary eyes and asked for forgiveness in the press conference. “I want to apologize to my family, especially my wife and daughters [cries]. Your love means more than anything to me and I would not be anything without you. I am sorry for putting you through this and I promise I won’t put you in this position again,” Warner said in the press conference.
