2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) winners finalists Rajasthan Royals will be keen to showcase their muscle in the 2023 season. Blended with good Indian and overseas players to field in their main XI, RR have a balanced side especially if you put the regulars. However, for RR the overall depth in certain areas lacks steel. RR can aim for the positives of last season and a lot will ride on skipper Sanju Samson. Jason Holder’s addition in the squad for a whopping INR 5.75 crore gives RR a huge lift. Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of IPL 2023 and RR have been hit hard. They will now have to look for a suitable replacement from the domestic circuit and find that desired balance in the pace department. Spin remains RR’s strength as usual with Adam Zampa the latest addition to provide cover. RR will count on their established stars and someone like Jos Buttler, who had a dream 2022 campaign will once again be the star factor. An in-form Yashasvi Jaiswal can wreak havoc with his stroke-play and there is Shimron Hetmyer to lift them in the middle. England’s Joe Root was another smart addition to the squad. He is a classy fit. RR are one of the strongest sides in IPL 2023. When you analyse their main playing XI, it’s a world class unit on offer. Consistency is what RR need for things to fall into place. Here we analyse the probable XI of the Royals in IPL 2023.
