Chennai Super Kings had a rough Indian Premier League 2022 campaign. After winning the 2021 edition and their fourth trophy in total, the expectations were huge once again. However, CSK perished rather sheepishly and failed to offer any substance. From a change of leadership midway to a string of defeats, CSK were outwitted in the competition. LEAGUE STAGE STATUS AND POINTS

In the league stage, CSK finished second-last, having played 14 games. They collected four wins and suffered 10 losses. With 8 points and an NRR of -0.203, CSK were outplayed and never quite got going. CSK started the season with 4 straight defeats versus the likes of KKR, LSG, PBKS, and SRH.
