A lot was expected from Dinesh Karthik from the England versus India Test series. The player got an essential chance to show his mettle and cement a place in the side but he has failed in the first two Test matches so far. Wriddhiman Saha is currently recovering from a shoulder injury and that prompted the selectors to get DK, who has been in sublime form in T20 cricket. His technical attributes made the think-tank believe that DK will add a lot of character in the middle-order and be amongst the runs.
But things haven’t gone well for the 33-year-old. In two Tests he has scores of 0, 20, 1 and 0. Karthik has struggled against the in-swingers especially. England bowlers have been smart enough to continue bowling against him in this area, and the batsman has struggled to get going. Wasn’t the homework done post the Test match at Edgbaston?
