There are players who are born once and former Indian captain MS Dhoni is one such player. If there was something to be achieved on the cricket field, Dhoni tried to achieve it and more often than not succeeded in it. Once there was a time when everything that the captain cool touched turned to gold and he was called the man with the Midas touch. He would celebrate his 40th birthday on July 7, 2021. Ahead of his big day, we take a look at his big achievements.

ONLY SKIPPER TO WIN THREE MAJOR ICC TROPHIES

There was Ricky Ponting, there was Stephen Fleming, and there was Michael Clarke and Graeme Smith too. These are some of the greatest captains of this era. However, none was able to win the three trophies of the game, namely ICC ODI World Cup, ICC T20 World Cup, and ICC Champions Trophy under their captaincy.

The Indian talisman, MS Dhoni though went one level above them all and won the three trophies under his captaincy. He won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in his first stint as a captain in 2007. Then it was the euphoric 2011 ODI World Cup victory that made him only the second Indian captain after Kapil Dev to carve his name on the prestigious honor board. In 2013 he won the Champions Trophy by beating England.
