Scott Robertson on stepping up to the first-team’s pre-season summer training camp, signing a new two-year deal and learning from the best
AN impressive Glasgow Cup-winning season in Tommy McIntyre’s reserves last campaign earned Scott Robertson a call up to the first-team’s pre-season summer tour of Austria and Switzerland last month. Shortly after that, the attacking midfielder was offered a new two-year deal at Paradise, and now the 18-year-old can’t wait to get the new domestic calendar underway.
Before that, the Celtic View caught up with Robertson to hear how his pre-season went and what his goals are for the weeks and months ahead.
YOU STEPPED UP TO THE FIRST-TEAM’S SUMMER TRAINING CAMP THIS YEAR, HOW WAS THE EXPERIENCE?
It was really good. Joining the first-team in Austria was great and was invaluable experience for me at this early point pre-season. I didn’t have much advance notice about being called up. I got the text on my phone that let me know I was added to the group chat, and that was when I knew I was going. That was only about two days before we set off. My Mum and Dad were really pleased for me.
HOW CHALLENGING IS STEPPING UP TO THE SENIOR TEAM’S LEVEL?
