Dutchman storms to Tour of Britain victory

Mathieu van der Poel has cemented his status as one of the favourites for the World Championship road race in Yorkshire in just over a week’s time with his Tour of Britain win.
The Dutchman has been in dominant form over the last week throughout the UK picking up three stage wins to underline his class and grip on the Tour of Britain overall. The only man who could come close to challenging him, Matteo Trentin (Mitchelton-Scott), shrugged his shoulders as he lost the deciding uphill on the race’s penultimate stage.
