Three Peaks founder and cyclo-cross pioneer

John Rawnsley, who has died aged 82, not only founded the Three Peaks Cyclo-Cross race, he won the first event in 1961 and went on to ride 45 editions, finishing on the podium a number of times. Equally impressively, the Bingley man organised 50 editions, before handing over to the current committee.
