Helmets? Not Again, Says Boardman

Chris Boardman has reflected the worries of many cyclists in a strongly worded article criticising the government for looking at whether helmets and hi-vis clothing should be made compulsory for cyclists.

“To the government, I say shame on you that this even has to be discussed (again),” wrote Boardman on the British Cycling website, “and shame on you that we even have to campaign, so we and our children can travel safely in a way that benefits everyone, on the roads we all pay for.”
