As far as CO2 BB pistols go, the Tanfoglio Gold Custom is one of the more serious ones I have reviewed to date. It feels like so much more than ‘just’ a BB shooter, with accuracy and action unlike anything else I have shot.

COOL MAG’

Let’s get straight to the point. This is a BB-only gun with a drop-out mag’ that holds 20 shots. It ejects from the pistol via the usual push-button release on the handle.

Loading the BBs is really easy, and you simply pull down the tension spring, then drop your BBs into the circular hole in the middle of the magazine. There’s no trying to push each individual BB into the top of the mag’, which I have found to be really quite fiddly on other BB guns.

This pistol operates from a single 12g CO2 cylinder, and loading that is no fuss, too. Unscrew the large Allen screw at the base of the mag’ with the Allen key provided, insert the CO2 nipple first, then replace the screw and tighten – it’s as simple as it gets.

If you look inside the box where the Allen keys are housed, underneath the free box of 4.5mm steel BBs, you’ll notice that they even supply you with a spare screw, which is a really nice touch – just in case you manage to lose or damage the one that comes supplied already in the mag’.
