Subastral is an elegant and simple card game with a layered scoring system that makes each choice challenging.

Six cloud cards, numbered one through six, are laid out in a row and eight biome cards are placed across them. Each player starts the game with three biome cards in their hand. Each biome card has a number, as well. On your turn, you must play one card to the cloud whose number matches that card's number. Once you place the card, you then take all the cards from another cloud. If you chose a cloud to the left of the cloud you played to, then the cards go to your hand. If it was to the right, then they go face-up into your journal. You never want to run out of cards – if you have nothing to play on your turn, you draw a card and pass, but cards in your journal are what
