It makes me sad whenever I see a news channel or a news article or social media. My brain starts questioning my soul, is this the India I was born? The India composed in Iqbal’s Sare jaha se achcha. The India Tagore wrote his poem about. Where is our India, the Secular India – The India Gandhi wanted to see.
What happened to us? I don’t know why we behave like a vandal, why we don’t apply our brains while doing or saying anything ill about any community or religion? Why has politics created such an enormous space in public’s heart that we forget what the humanity actually is? Sometimes I am stunned by the strange behavior and verbal violence of people and ponder is it the same India in which Lord Buddha and Gandhi were born. Where are their principles? Where is our culture on which we feel proud? And why do we now relentlessly fail to follow that?
