The first step in your journey towards working with fashion magazines is to grab a copy of a few different magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, etc. Read the articles and interviews written in them thoroughly and try to understand the photography – the concept behind it, why is it so appealing, what made the image reach here. Asking yourself these questions will lead you further on your road towards becoming a fashion photographer. Getting to understand the idea behind a shoot and the approach the photographers towards an idea/ theme is a hard-earned and valuable skill. Imitating other photographers’ styles might sound like a bad idea in terms of creativity, but during the initial stages of your career, just trying to achieve those looks and feel of a photograph will teach you a lot about this field.
