• Your tiny day-old baby can already recognise your touch, voice and smell. He might not realise it yet, but he’s forming a strong attachment to you and prefers your cuddles above anyone else’s.

• From around six weeks, your little one might surprise you with his first spontaneous grin. Encourage his smiles by talking and singing to him – he’ll soon learn to associate you with special moments and he’ll reserve his biggest grins for you.
