Musicians From Different Eras And Genres Unite To Oppose Predatory' Al

A group of more than 200 high-profile musicians including Billie Eilish, Stevie Wonder and Nicki Minaj have signed an open letter calling for protections against the predatory use of artificial intelligence that mimics human artists' likenesses, voices and sound.
The signatories span musical genres and eras, ranging from pop stars such as Katy Perry, Jess Glynne and former One Direction member Zayn Malik, to Rock and Roll Hall of Famers like Elvis Costello, REM and Jon Bon Jovi.
The letter issued by the Artist Rights Alliance (ARA) campaign group demands that developers, technology companies and platforms pledge not to develop or utilise AI tools that undermine or replace human songwriters and artists' work.
