6 IAF men had been killed on February 27 in J&K’s Budgam
The Budgam helicopter crash was brought down by our own missiles and was a big mistake, Indian Air Force Chief RKS Bhadauria said in his annual press conference on Friday.
It is now clear that helicopter was brought down by Indian air defense guns accidentally.
The IAF has completed the court of inquiry that has established lapses and mistakes by officials. “The Court of Inquiry has established the Mi 17 helicopter was hit by our own missile. Action being taken against officers. Disciplinary action against being taken against two officers. Those killed will be considered battle casualties,” Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria said.
The crash took place on February 27 killing six personnel onboard in Budgam, Jammu, and Kashmir, amid the Pakistani Force raid in retaliation to IAF’s aerial strike in Balakot, Pakistan hitting a terror camp.
