Mamata's TMC Bags All 3 Seats In Bengal Bypolls

BJP is paying for its arrogance, says Bengal CM

The ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal has swept the bypolls to three Assembly seats in the state. Party led by the West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, has won the Kaliaganj seat in North Dinajpur and has also snatched the prestigious Kharagpur seat from the BJP in West Midnapore district.

The Kharagpur seat remained vacant after the Bengal BJP president, Dilip Ghosh, got elected to the Lok Sabha from Midnapur earlier this year. The TMC has not only won the seat which gave the BJP a lead of nearly 40,000 votes in the Lok Sabha polls, but it has also regained the lost ground with a lead of more than 18,000 votes in less than six months.

Similarly, the TMC has regained some lost ground in north Bengal with its victory in Kaliaganj seat. Kaliaganj comes under the Raiganj Lok Sabha constituency that was won by BJP’s Debasree Chaudhuri in May this year.
