Says doctor Khan after a clean chit in Gorakhpur children’s death case

DR KAFEEL Khan on Friday expressed jubilation over being cleared of all negligence and corruption charges in the Gorakhpur BRD Hospital tragedy.

Two years after an oxygen shortage killed more than 60 children at Gorakhpur’s BRD Medical College, a departmental inquiry absolved paediatrician Khan of the charges of medical negligence, corruption and dereliction of duty.

Speaking exclusivley with India Today TV, Khan said, “I am very happy today. Very good news has come for my whole family after two years.”

A vindicated Khan said, “This inquiry report had been ordered by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath himself on August 22, 2017. It was to be finished in 90 days but lingered on for two years.”
