Weary Reds limp over the line

ASSISTANT boss Andy Davies admitted Wrexham had made harder work of this crucial win over Solihull after withstanding a second-half fightback.

Luke Young scored two first-half penalties but Moors hit back through a spot-kick of their own through Adam Rooney to make for a very nervy final ten minutes.

But after securing three points and climbing back into the play-off places, Davies hailed the goalscoring impact of midfielder Young.

Young has now scored nine goals this season, putting him joint-top of the Reds’ scoring charts, with a further goal now annulled against Dover too.

“It’s a huge three points for us, with the amount of games to go,” Davies said. “The most important thing was to get the win, though we were disappointed with the second-half performance if we’re honest.
