IAN BURCHNALL’S Notts County produced the performance to match the occasion as they sealed their play-off place in style in front of more than 4,000 jubilant Meadow Lane supporters.

Notts are turning on the style

A Notts team in rampant form and the return of fans after 14 frustrating months was the perfect recipe for a banana skin but honest Terras boss Brian Stock summed it up.

“It was three – it could have been many more,” he said. “But it’s a great achievement for our club to be playing at places like this.

“We have done enough to finish 18th with just 15 players and the lads were tired towards the end. But they never chucked the towel in.”

Stock’s men won praise from Burchnall for their pleasing football – but this afternoon was all about Notts.
