Glovers forced to Reid the script

ALEX REID’S first-half strike was enough to seal the points for a Stockport County side who kept their first clean sheet in three games under new boss Simon Rusk.

Reid fired home midway through the half for his ninth goal of the season as the Hatters moved up to third in the table.

Yeovil were resolute throughout but their frustrations were compounded by Lee Collins’ red card deep into stoppage time for a dreadful challenge on Macauley Southam-Hales.

“There’s no gimmes in any division of professional football and you have to be solid and you have to find a way sometimes, and we found a way to get a clean sheet,” a relieved Rusk said. “It was a really good performance.”

A feature of the first half was the marauding Southam-Hales who was being afforded the chance to bomb on and he crossed for Jordan Williams in the early stages but he side-footed just wide.
