The process through which a trained taster detects the quality of a particular tea is called tea tasting and this specialized profession in the tea industry is called tea taster. A tea taster also needs to find out the dissimilarities between the teas and give expert advice on the various ways in which tea can be brewed to get a specific taste.

How to become a Tea Taster?

One does not need a formal degree to become a tea taster. However, there are certain diploma courses that help one in understanding tea the techniques of teatesting and give scientific knowledge. These certificate courses are for 3 months certificate course to 1-year diploma.

Qualifications:

In order to become a tea taster, one needs to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Botany, Food Sciences, Horticulture or allied fields.
