Don Job for Jason

09 March 2017

The torrential rains of the week abated for a short time on Thursday to allow limited play in this week’s Thursday Society.

Don Job for Jason

CITY OF DERRY

When the count was complete it was Jason Donnell (7) who found he had topped the poll by a single stroke. Jason completed his round of 25 points in steady fashion with only a single double-bogey as a blemish.

Just a single shot behind was annual hardy Brian Stanford (12). Playing at the end of the field Brain made the most of the fairing conditions to post a 24 point total that would have been much better without the ugly, and uncharacteristic, blank at the difficult Par 4 4th, “The Whins”.

When no fewer than five players posting 23 pointers the B.O.T rules were called into play. The cleaver fell in favour of Noel O’Connell (Sen) (10) on this occasion, and he collected the third prize on offer.

Thursday Society members should please add these dates to your diary:

Skipper’s Day, 30th March- £3 entry with £5 for subsidized meal, presentation and meal at 5.30pm.

The following presentations will also take place on the night - Golfer of the Year (Places 1-6), Joe Ramsey Trophy (Places 1-5) and The Ted Pope Trophy (Places1-5). All prizewinners are asked to attend or send a representative to collect their prize.

Upcoming Competitions: 9th March; Joe Ramsey Trophy and 16th March; Ted Pope Trophy.

Golfer of the Year will be decided after the Ted Pope Trophy.

Please note that February vouchers have been deposited to your ProShop Account.
