Harkness Aims For The Perfect Ending To Successful Season

CARN Wheelers’ teen-age cycling sensation Darcey Harkness faces the toughest test of her short cycling career this weekend.
On Sunday she will compete in the National Cyclocross U16 Championships at Carryduff.
This season, Darcey has already won both the Ulster League and Ulster Championships - winning all races by comfortable margins.
This will be the end of a fantastic season that also saw her claim the Ulster U16 girls' Mountain Bike Championship and finish as runner-up in the National Mountain Bike Championships.
Darcey, a pupil of the Rainey Endowed School in Magherafelt has been cycling for five years.
“I was P6 and we did a couple of fun mountain bike races in Belfast, as part of the spring league - it was a three race series,” she explains of her early career.
