'Dawson' The Rescued Donkey 'Receiving The Love And Care He Deserves'

AN abandoned donkey, which was rescued following an online public appeal, is said to be doing well after being taken into the care of The Donkey Sanctuary.

Local Facebook page, Castledwason Life, was instrumental in helping to launch a rescue mission for the donkey, which had been living in a field in the Church Lane area of Castledawson for a number of months.

The donkey, which had been named locally as ‘Bella’, had ‘limited grazing and water,’ and overgrown hooves.

An investigation was launched to find the owner, when that failed, a court granted an application for authorities to take ownership.

A recent up-date, which was provided by Jenny from, The Donkey Sanctuary to ‘Castledawson Life,’ has reported that the donkey, which has been renamed ‘Dawson,’ is receiving the care it needs and will be ready to be re-homed in the coming weeks.
