Callaway’s Flash Faced Fairway Woods Are Faster Off The Turf

Because a fairway wood is used more off the turf versus off the tee, Callaway’s A.I. computer was presented with a whole new set of challenges when the parameters were input. The resulting Flash Face of the fairway looks completely different to that of the driver, but still embodies the same design principles.

As R&D head Dr. Hocknell explained, “A fairway wood is a lot shallower than a driver and the usage is different. Shots from the fairway will be a little bit lower on the face. So we had to take all that into consideration.
