December was a month of glitz, glamour and a lot of star power. No, we aren’t talking about any big Bollywood movie. It was the wedding of star cricketer Yuvraj Singh – to model-turned actress Hazel Keech, followed by fast bowler Ishant Sharma last month that has been the talking point for weeks in the country. Yuvraj’s wedding, especially, was no less than a big, fat quintessential Bollywood wedding. In fact, such was the craze for their special day, that the paparazzi covered the entire 10-day event, spread over three cities, with great gusto. And although Ishant Sharma’s wedding a few days later wasn’t done with as much fanfare, it still had all the ingredients of a ritzy event.

What came out of these two events was that in today’s day and age fans want to be connected to their stars 24 × 7. And with both Yuvraj and Ishant sharing the details of their marriage with the press and on their respective social media accounts, it allowed a new mode of connection between the stars and their fans on their special days.

For now, let’s delve a little deeper into the bigger wedding of the two.

YUVRAJ SINGH AND HAZEL KEECH – A BACKGROUND

Yuvraj first met Hazel at a party in 2011 and was instantly smitten by her. It was the time when Hazel had just had her first big break in the form a decent role in the Salman Khan-starrer Bollywood movie ‘Bodyguard’. For the next few years, Yuvraj pursued her and it was only in 2014 that Hazel finally agreed to go out with the cricketer.

Thus began a fruitful courtship period and on 11th November 2015, when the couple were on a vacation in Bali in Indonesia, they got engaged. Both Yuvraj and Hazel announced this news through their social media handles and the news immediately spread like wildfire.

“Yes, I am engaged ‘cause I found a friend for life in Hazel,” Yuvraj announced on Twitter.
