Roma Narsinghani’s cutting-edge metal jewelry has women hooked. The young designer takes Tina Thakrar through her journey.
She takes the everyday ornament and turns it into a work of art, transforms the personality of the wearer, and makes a striking impact on the viewer – Roma Narsinghani’s experimental jewelry is anything but conventional. The beautiful contrast between the sharpness of her geometric designs and the softness they impart has resulted in the creation of whimsical pieces that are unapologetically bold.
We urge you to take one look at her work, and you’ll know what we mean. Her sculpted pieces, crafted out of imitation gold and brass, draw inspiration from architecture and sometimes from more urban elements like billboards and lampposts! Living in architecturally rich cities like London and Milan has had a lasting impact on her, one aspect of which is her cutting-edge geometric design style.
Born in Kuwait, Roma’s design journey first started in fashion. With a passion for the arts from a very young age, she made a firm decision to make a profession of the more commercial forms of art - specifically fashion. A go-getter from the very start, Roma strengthened her base in the field, with degrees from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London College of Fashion and the Instituto Marangoni in Milan. Working with design brands like Ferragamo, Gharani Strok and Manish Arora gave her the tutelage she needed to take her first few independent steps into the industry.
